A group of six S6 pupils from Firpark Secondary in Motherwell recently enjoyed a week in London.
During their trip they visited the Houses of Parliament and were given a tour of the Houses of Commons and Lords, conducted by their local MP Frank Roy. This was rounded off with tea on the terrace of the Thames.
During their stay the group also had the opportunity to see the sights of London by open-top bus and boat, as well as going on the London Eye.
The pupils, who leave school this year, had dinner in Chinatown, saw ‘Wicked’ in the West End and had photos taken with their favourite celebrities at Madam Tussauds.
The boys and girls raised funds for this trip through various enterprise projects within school, such as Avon and car valeting, as well as raising close to £700 by doing a sponsored walk.
Pupils Jamie Ferguson, Jonathan Murphy, Chloe Paton, Calum Rough, Karolina Skonieczna and Andrew Walker are pictured with teachers, Dorothy O’Neill and Duncan MacRitchie after their tour with Frank Roy.
