Can you picture the longest day?

The Times and Speaker’s Summer of Love campaign has caught the imagination of businesses in our circulation area - and now it’s time for our readers to join in the fun.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been urging people to help the local economy by spending their money locally, visiting our local tourist attractions and eating out at local pubs and restaurants.

And to provide an extra boost we’ve been offering some great advertising options to help firms as they aim to take advantage of the green shoots of recovery which we are finally seeing.

Now we’re focusing on all that’s good in our community in a unique project timed to coincide with the longest day on Friday.

We want to pull together your videos of what makes Motherwell, Bellshill and surrounding areas so special.

All you need to do is take a short video clip - 20 or 30 seconds on a mobile phone will do - on Friday and e-mail it to us

We’ll then package them together and make them available to view on our website.

We’ll feature as many as we can on our website and you can also follow what we’re up to on Twitter using the hashtag #longestlocalday.

As it’s a project to mark the longest day, all videos must be taken on Friday and, because we want to have them online that evening, they need to be with us no later than 2 p.m.

Go on, make sure you make your mark in our longest day!

For those business who haven’t advertised with us for a while, the Summer of Love campaign runs throughout June.
