YOUNGSTERS at Motherwell’s Ladywell Primary have a new way to remember former pupil Caden Beggan.

The six-year-old sadly passed away in November following a four-week battle with meningococcal septicaemia at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital in Glasgow.

As reported in the Times, the Cleland youngster attracted worldwide support through a Facebook page set up by his family.

And his plight did not go unnoticed by bus operator First, which redesigned a vehicle on its 241 route in his honour as he battled the illness.

With the recognisable bus still on the road, staff continued to hold fundraising events after Caden’s passing.

Employees hosted events such as a lunch, tombola and a number of collections.

And the £3,000 raised has been used to install a personalised pirate ship and dinosaur footprints in the Ladywell playground.
