CAB hold an after Christmas fair

MOTHERWELL and Wishaw Citizens’ Advice Bureau is holding an after Christmas fair on Tuesday.

The event is being hosted by its Advice for Tenants & Residents (AFTAR) project and will coincide with Big Energy Week (January 16-21).

As well as picking up tips from energy companies on how to cut the cost of your fuel bills, money advice and credit union services will be available.

The Healthy Living Centre in Shotts is providing a stall with samples on healthy eating and the local FoodBank will be attending.

Motherwell College’s beauty therapists will treat visitors to a health therapy and police officers will be on hand to raise awareness on community security and safety.

There will also be a big prize draw and on offer will be vouchers for meals from Tony Macaroni, Motherwell College’s ML1 restaurant, beauty therapy from Halo and Motherwell College, £25 voucher for Livingstone’s Almondvale Shopping Centre and other prizes.

Visitors who are eligible for a free fridge, or washing machine, or cooker under the SSE scheme will be assisted to complete a claim form.

The fair takes place in the Maranatha Centre, Glencairn Street, Motherwell from 10am to 1pm.
