Pupils at Braidhurst High recently took part in their annual baking competition ‘The Great Braidhurst Bake Off’.

The competition, based on the popular television programme ‘The Great British Bake Off’, consisted of 50 pupils competing over five weeks, with a new baking challenge each week.

Pupils demonstrated their first-rate baking skills creating scones, cakes, puddings, biscuits and cream cakes and staff from various departments judged the competition each week until the final four were chosen.

Four pupils, one from each house, completed the final round - Heather Campbell (Lorne House), Eden Kennedy (Rannoch), Anna Louise Gammon (Atholl) and Claire Johnstone (Morven).

S2 pupil Anna Louise Gammon won the competition - and the coveted title of ‘Superstar Baker’ - with her chocolate and strawberry cream bar gateau. Her outstanding talent earned her a large hamper filled with baking ingredients and equipment and school points for Atholl House.
