RESIDENTS at Bupa’s Hatton Lea Care Home in Bellshill will be turning the pages of their favourite books and letting their imaginations run wild as they host special events to celebrate National Storytelling Week.

Held annually, National Storytelling Week (January 26-February2) aims to encourage all areas of the community to take part in creating and enjoying storytelling, and increase awareness of how beneficial sharing stories can be.

Hatton Lea has invited members of the local community along to its Robert Burns themed storytelling event on Wednesday, January 30, at 2pm.

Home manager, June Sugden, said: “Storytelling is one of the most traditional forms of enjoyment for people of all ages. It allows our residents to liberate their imaginations and be transported to other worlds without even having to leave the comfort of their armchairs.

“We are looking forward to welcoming family and members of the local community along - we really want as many people as possible to join us in celebrating this wonderful form of entertainment.”
