BELLSHILL turned into ‘Route 66’ on Thursday as hundreds of bikers descended on the town to say farewell to a well-known businessman.

David Wellcoat died at the age of 46 following ongoing problems with his heart, and his funeral paid tribute to one of his life passions - the motorcycle.

A keen member of the Blue Angels Motorcycle Club for more than a decade, David was known in the area for his business Tyre Wholesales, which had operations in Bellshill and Wishaw.
