A LANARKSHIRE birdwatcher is urging locals to be on the lookout for air rifle thugs shooting at birds in Motherwell.
The enthusiast, who did not want to be named, said he spotted two men with the weapons near the River Clyde walkway, close to the RSPB Baron’s Haugh Reserve.
He scared them off by taking photos of them but he fears they could return to the area, which attracts birds from all over the world including whooper swans from Iceland.
Police confirmed they investigated the incident but say they are taking no further action.
