THREE Motherwell binmen tested themselves to the limit to raise money for the neonatal unit at Wishaw General Hospital.

Kenny Nicol, Barry Seath and Marc Morgan signed up for the Tough Mudder event in Dumfries earlier in the summer when it arrived in Scotland for the first time.

The sadistic Tough Mudder course sees competitors tested to the limit as they are faced with 28 SAS obstacles spread over 12 miles as they are forced to endure the likes of running through fire, being dunked in water, crawling through nettles and being shocked with 10,000 volts.

Although not a race, the course normally has an average finishing time of three and a half hours, but Kenny, Barry and Marc, who work at the environmental services depot in Albert Street, dragged themselves across the line in two and a half hours.
