Bellshill hoping its annual fair is streets ahead

All the fun of the fair will come to Bellshill this weekend when the town hosts its traditional street fair celebration.

As usual Main Street will be closed to traffic throughout the Bank Holiday weekend as the town hosts stalls, fairground ride and a variety of entertainment.

Organised by Bellshill Community Council, this years fair will be opened on Saturday at 11am by Shona Kerr on behalf of Alex Gibb, husband of the late Margaret Gibb who won the Bank of Scotland Community Champion for her work on behalf of youngsters in the area.

The Saturday will feature the usual variety of stalls run by local churches, charities and small businesses collecting for charities, plus entertainment from Bellshill Salvation Army Band and Bellshill & District Concert Brass.

On Sunday entertainment will be provided by the Carol McLean, Nadia Brown and Leanne Bence dance groups who will perform for an hour each, from 1pm, while attractions on Monday will include a fire appliance plus the usual variety of rides.
