A BELLSHILL firm has landed a top prize at the 2012 Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards.

Scotty Brand, based at Strathclyde Business Park, lifted the Healthy Eating Award for its range of best in season Scottish produce.

All of Scotty Brand’s products are 100 per cent grown, prepared and packed in Scotland and products include potatoes, carrots, Scotch broth mix, casserole veg, neeps and tatties, strawberries and raspberries.

All members of the Scotty Brand range have only trace levels of salt, very low fat levels and only trace levels of saturated fat and the range cuts across every one of the Scottish dietary targets.

Company managing director Paul McLaughlin collected the award at a glittering ceremony hosted by ‘cuisine comedian’ Hardeep Singh Kohli at the the Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro Hotel.
