THERE was fun for everyone at the weekend as Bellshill hosted its annual Street Fair celebration.

The event, organised by Bellshill Community Council, took place on its traditional slot over the bank holiday weekend with the usual wide range of rides, attractions and entertainment laid on.

The event was officially opened on Saturday by Bellshill councillor and newly elected Central Scotland list MSP Richard Lyle.

On the Sunday, the Carol McLean and Dance Dynamics Cheer squad took centre stage, followed by Street Dance Crew/Dance Academy and the Dynamics Dance Squad.

And on Monday, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue took along some of their equipment to allow the young members of the public to see what the fire service does.

M&D Leisure, in conjunction with the Showman’s Guild, had fairground rides along the Main Street as well as in Tesco’s car park.

Stalls were erected for local charities and various groups to allow them to raise much-needed funds.
