The behind-the-scenes contribution made by Karen Lambie during her 10 years as campaign co-ordinator to the Supercounty Lanarkshire Civic Pride campaign has been praised by founder chairman Ian Livingstone.

He was accompanied by Supercounty director and former Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire Gilbert Cox as Karen cut the presentation cake bearing the inscription ‘Ten out of Ten’

Ian said: “As I look at this inscription it reminds me Karen’s first role for Supercounty was being involved in the production of a brochure ‘Ten out of Ten’ to mark 10 years of Supercounty.

“The phrase appropriately reflects the quality of her conscientious contribution to the campaign between December 2002 and December 2012, as she co-ordinated major events such as the Supercounty Awards, Supercounty Supershow and Schools’ Choir Festival.

“Karen took ‘multi-tasking’ to a new level as she worked with a willingness and a friendly outlook to broaden the ‘behind the scenes’ role over the years to include the duties of Board secretary, minute secretary and financial controller.

“That friendliness and cheerfulness was never more evident in her dealings with sponsors and the many contacts Karen built up in schools and community groups across Lanarkshire over the years while she help organise so many of the well received publicity events which presented a positive perception of this Super-county of ours.”
