AN Uddingston couple proved their love is stronger than ever by celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary last week.

Ronald and Sheila Rattray marked 60 years of marriage on Tuesday, October 11 with South Lanarkshire Council Provost Russell Clearie who visited their home.

The couple married in 1951 in South Church, Monifieth, Angus.

A chartered civil engineer, Ronald pursued a long and successful career in local government, retiring as director of technical services for Renfrew District Council in 1986.
