A BAND formed at Motherwell College will be representing Scotland in the international finals of the Surface Festival on Saturday.
Beating off stiff competition from more than 4,000 Scottish bands, All She Knows will be representing their country at the O2 Arena in London, with hopes of making it in the music industry.
The experimental rock group, made up of lead guitarist George Cowie, bass guitarist Ross MacAndrew, singer Seb Lim-Seet, drummer Adam MacEachran and keyboardist Ting Tang, have enjoyed a whirlwind summer since completing an HND Music course.
They joined recently signed artists That Sunday Feeling on their UK tour playing some of the UK’s biggest venues including Academy 3 in Manchester, Glasgow’s King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and The o2 Newcastle Academy.
Ting Tang, from Carfin, said: “We have worked hard to get to this stage in the competition and now we want to win this, not just for us but for Scotland.
“Playing with top bands this summer, as a supporting act, on our first UK tour has been a phenomenal experience so far. I’m hoping everyone gets behind us and we are able to do Scotland proud in the Surface Festival.”
The college’s head of department for beauty, sports and performing arts David McShane said: “It is always rewarding to learn of bands going on to succeed and utilising the business knowledge we develop within our award-winning courses.
“In an increasingly digital world, it is paramount that bands and artists learn to promote themselves and use every opportunity open to them through social media channels now on offer.
“We are delighted to hear of the band’s recent success and would like to wish them the very best in the competition.”
