PUPILS at a Motherwell school got the chance to meet children’s author David Almond recently.

Budding young authors from across the country took part in the Scottish Friendly Meet Our Authors programme, which is run by the Scottish Book Trust.

David read his latest creation The True Tale of the Monster Billy Dean, which is the prequel to his bestseller Skellig, to thousands of children via an online broadcast from BBC Scotland’s Pacific Quay studios.

And lucky Our Lady’s High School pupils Grant Mackin and Lauren Whitehead got to meet David and listen in on the session as the broadcast took place.
