POP band The Plimptons are hoping to get everyone in the mood for the festive season by releasing a collection of Christmas songs with a difference.

The five-piece have drawn inspiration from their hometown of Motherwell for their latest release Christmas All Over This Town.

The three track EP features Christmas All Over This Town which is an ode to popular haunt Starka where guitarist Martin Smith and singer Adam Smith spent 10 consecutive Christmas eves before the pub closed down.

Other tracks include Christmas is Over and Xmas in Motherwell which evokes Brandon Parade during the festive season.

The band - also made up of guitarist Cal Murray, drummer Tommy Duffin and bassist Joe Greatorex - decided to release the collection after noticing others were doing it.
