TWO women who are taking part in a 10-day trek and building challenge in Cambodia for the charity Scope later this year have added £745 to their fundraising efforts thanks to a race night.

Carina Canning, from Motherwell, and Julia McLellan, from Viewpark, held the event in Wetherspoons’ Brandon Works pub in Motherwell.

Staff at the pub also took part in fundraising events.

Craig Menzies, who has been growing his hair for three years, cut it short for the charity while Tam McCourt and Dee Howard had their legs waxed.

Julia said: “The Wetherspoons staff were really supportive and customers were really generous with donations on the night. We had a great night!”
