YOUNG musicians throughout Lanarkshire are being encouraged to enter a Parliamentary music competition.

Rock the House is open to solo artists and bands, as well as music venues, with application forms to be sent to the relevant MP.

Pamela Nash, MP for Airdrie and Shotts, visited Reeltime Music in Newarthill to launch the contest.

She said: “It was brilliant to be back at Reeltime to launch the Rock the House competition.

“Every time I visit the project I am encouraged by the dedication and enthusiasm of all the staff and young people there.”
