IT looks like 2011 could be a good year for Motherwell’s Jeye T - as the singer/songwriter has been signed up by The Libertines drummer Gary Powell.
The indie star, real name John Tierney, has been signed to Powell’s label 25 Hour Convenience Store and is planning to release his mini EP in the next month or so.
The deal came about through Jeye T’s association with The Libertines’ former manager Alan McGee - the Times & Speaker has previously reported that McGee has backed Jeye T’s career from the start.
His mini EP has been produced by Jon Moon, whose previous credits include Kings of Leon and Amy Winehouse, and the record will even feature his label boss Powell on the drums.
Fans of Jeye T will be pleased to know that popular tracks such as Hysteria and So Lonley are featured.
