BELLSHILL youngster Morgan Crozier has picked up her first silverwear at national level, just seven months after taking up Irish dancing.
Morgan (4), of Watt Crescent, who attends classes at the Maureen Onesti Academy in the Lithuanian Club, Mossend, on Mondays and Wednesdays, headed to London for the South of England Open Champions.
The St Gerard’s Nursery pupil trained hard for the event and also took part in classes in Greenock on another two nights a week.
All that dedication paid off as she headed back home having finished second in the under-5s competition, third in the under-7s category and eighth amongst the under-8s receiving high praise for her performance.
Her achievements are all the more remarkable as she was born 10 weeks premature.
Her mum Lisa McIlroy said: “We are so proud of her, especially when you consider how far she has come.
“At one stage a few years ago we were worried she wouldn’t here at all and now she is winning trophies and medals for doing something she loves.”
