Mob justice

IMAGINE a future when time travel will invented, but far from being all Doctor Who, it is illegal, only available on the black market and controlled by the mob.

In Looper, out now at the Showcase in Bargeddie, we learn that when the mob wants to get rid of someone, no longer does a ‘concrete overcoat’ and ‘sleeping with the fishes’ suffice.

Organised crime has moved on and now send their target 30 years into the past where they arrive blindfolded and a hired gun, ‘a looper’ is waiting to mop up.

In the year 2042 Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), himself a looper, is getting rich and life is good until the day the mob decides to ‘close the loop’ by sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.
