Streets alive this summer
WITH the schools breaking up for the summer holidays this week, children will be eagerly anticipating six weeks of fun.
However after only a few days parents can be sure they’ll be hearing the dreaded words ‘I’m bored!’.
It’s not cheap or easy keeping children amused, which is why Town Centre Activities has arranged a programme of free activities called ‘Streets Alive at Summer’ for kids of all ages throughout the summer break.
Activities take place across North Lanarkshire from Saturday, with several events being held in Motherwell and Bellshill town centres, all from 11am-3pm on the relevant days.
In Bellshill there will be a face painter and bungee run on Thursday, July 5; a magician and gladiator joust on Friday, July 20; and caricaturist and kangaroo boxing on Tuesday, July 31.
Motherwell hosts a teddy bears’ picnic on Friday, July 13; giant Wii, a stilt walker and balloon modelling on Friday, July 27; and family fun sports day on Saturday, August 11.
