Kris Kinnear climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for macmillan
A MOTHERWELL man was relaxing with his feet planted firmly back on home soil after scaling the highest mountain in Africa to raise money for charity.
Kris Kinnear made it all the way to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, some 19,000 feet above sea level, as part of a group of 26 fundraisers for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The 32-year-old quantity surveyor set out with an initial target of raising £5,000 and so far has got almost £4,500 with a race night still to come next month.
Kris said: “I wanted to raise money for Macmillan because they have been so good to my family and those of friends who have had someone die of cancer.
“It was great but was probably the hardest thing I have ever done.”
