Motherwell prepares for fashion extravaganza

MOTHERWELL is preparing to host the highly anticipated Brandon Shopping Centre Fashion Show.

The event, which will showcase the latest designs and trends from local retailers, will be held on Saturday, September 11.

Organised by Town Centre Activities, North Lanarkshire's town centre management company, it will take place in a giant marquee at the refurbished pedestrianised area of Merry Street.

As well as taking in a catwalk show, audiences will be able to enjoy a variety of retail discounts.

There will be a full programme of entertainment between noon and 4pm including dancers, magic and music, and the whole event will be compered by Ewen Cameron from Real Radio. The station's Barry the Basset Hound will also be strolling through the town.

In addition, there will be street entertainment throughout Brandon Parade and Merry Street, with funfair rides and giant slides for kids.

Look out for further details in forthcoming editions of the Times & Speaker.
