FNL prepare to go online

LOCAL band FNL are going online in a bid to build on their reputation as one of the most promising new bands around.

The group, who have members from Bellshill, Uddingston and Glasgow, have recorded a performance for the TFTV music show – a showcase run by an internet TV station to promote new bands.

FNL comprise guitarist Alan McRae (35) and bass player Michael McMillan (22) from Bellshill, drummer Stewart Eddleston (38) from Uddingston and singer Steven O'Meara (30) from Glasgow.

Last week they recorded their set for the show – which only features live material – at Ivory Blacks in Glasgow.

The show has been hailed as a tonic against boybands, music promos and 'X Factor' type shows and has been described as a TV version of The Marquee – the legendary London showcase venue which launched the likes of David Bowie, Roxy Music, Rod Stewart and Elton John.

FNL have already received rave reviews following the release of their debut album 'Dead In Vegas' and in less than a year have amassed over 100,000 hits on their MySpace page alone.

Voted a 'band to watch in the future' on Rock Radio 96.3, they are also looking towards transatlantic success after having their new song 'Lie With Me' picked up by a record company in America for release later this summer on a worldwide charity CD.
