A WEBSITE has been set up to keep everyone informed of all the events and activities going on at Musicfest in Uddingston this month.
Musicfest runs from Thursday, February 14, to Tuesday, February 19, bringing together an eclectic mix of styles and offering something for all ages in venues across the village.
Scottish folk legend Alastair McDonald headlines performing on the opening night at Park Church.
Also getting involved are the Ukelele Kids from St Brendan’s Primary, multi-intrumentalist and singer Alan Jones, traditional groups Fairweather Rig, Ahmurneidh and Chitterbite Ceilidh Band.
From further afield is American folk guitarist and singer Frank Kelly, while organist John Lyth is joined by Two Wild Geese from the Iona Community.
Musicfest founder Lorna Cammock and Summerlee ‘B Flat Miner’ will also both be entertaining in story and song, while Croftbank Care Home brings together the full age spectrum with the Silver Singers, Signers and Band, pianist Michael Campbell and the Ocalele Kids.
Music icons The Rolling Stones and George Harrison are also getting involved as Linn Music presents two of their successful Linn Lounge events which celebrate the life and work of music’s greatest names.
And there is even an opportunity for you to take part with Open Mic nights at the Anvil Pub.
