Celebrate the start of the summer at the Brannock Gala Day on Saturday, June 18.
This annual event brings the communities of Newarthill, Carfin, Holytown and New Stevenston together in the grounds of Brannock High for a fun filled day with plenty of entertainment for all ages from the gala queen parade to music performances, dance shows and rides to refreshments and stalls.
The gala day will kick off with the gathering of the parade at Newarthill Primary at 10.15am with the event beginning at 10.30am led by the Isle of Cumbrae Pipe Band.
The parade will then travel along the High Street, onto Loanhead Road and then arrive at Brannock High grounds via main gate at approximately 11am for the official crowning ceremony of Gala Queen Katie McIntyre of Newarthill Primary.
This year, the gala day committee are delighted to announce that the event will be officially opened by local lady Hibernian captain and Scotland internationalist, Rhonda Jones.
An action packed day is ensured ahead with live local music performances hosted by community charity Reeltime Music and performances from Irish Dancers and Carina Miller’s Dance and Cheer Group.
Wristbands will be on sale for £5 allowing access to rides including a range of inflatables and swingboats, mini waltzers, laser quest, Titans challenge and the equalizer.
All this fun will come along with refreshments stands and face painting to ensure that this is an enjoyable day for all - both young and not so young.
