River City star Keira Lucchesi will be attending Sunday’s Dogs Trust Glasgow open day at Strathclyde Park to give her support to the charity.

Events run from noon-3.30pm and whether you want to test your dog’s agility, enter them in the Fun Dog Show or take your kids along to enjoy the Fun Zone, there will be something for everyone.

Each dog show class costs £2.50 to enter and this year the categories are: Waggiest Tail, My Dogs got Talent, Perkiest Pensioner (8 years and over), Cheekiest Pup (under 1 year), Best Rescue and Best in Show .

Glasgow Dog Training Club will be running Have-a-go Agility and there will be an array of stalls and games such as raffles and tombolas.

The charity is appealing for raffle prizes ahead of the event, and is open to creative suggestions.

All money raised will go to the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Uddingston.

Emma Louise Livingstone, Dogs Trust Glasgow supporter relations officer, said: “The Fun Day is a great day out for all the family, whether you have two legs or four.

“It doesn’t matter if you own a dog, are a dog lover or just like trying your luck with raffles make sure you don’t miss out on the host of activities and come and join in the fun.

“We are delighted to welcome Keira Lucchesi to our event this year and we look forward to seeing lots of familiar faces at our Fun Days, especially some of our ex canine residents who have gone on to find wonderful new homes.”

Entry and parking are free.

For anyone who would like to meet the canine residents looking for new homes, Dogs Trust Glasgow Rehoming Centre will also be open for viewing in the afternoon, but no rehoming will be able to take place on the day.
