A CHARITY record produced by a Motherwell school has reached the top 40.
The choir at Ladywell Primary recorded O Holy Night to raise funds for the Meningitis Research Foundation, in memory of pupil Caden Beggan who died last month,
The track broke the top 10 of the iTunes download chart last week and as the Motherwell Times went to press has gone on to reach 39 in the Official UK Chart.
Having sold 13,000 copies in 20 countries, O Holy Night has so far raised £6,800 for the charity.
If it remains within the top 40 it will be aired across the nation on Sunday.
Ladywell headteacher Pat Ashworth said: “Making it into the top 40 of the official charts is really incredible.
“On behalf of the pupils, parents and staff at the school, I’d like to thank everyone who has bought the single, giving us so much support and helping to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation.
“The kids are amazed, shocked, delighted and overwhelmed with the success of the song and absolutely love the fact they are currently sitting at 39 in the Official UK Chart.
“They are so proud of themselves and the school.”
