OVER 7,000 tickets have been sold for this year's Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime at Motherwell Theatre.

The fairytale opens on Monday, November 23 and runs until Sunday, January 3 — and for the first two weeks of its run, the University of Glasgow will be bringing its Pantomime in Scotland exhibition to the theatre.

Some of Scotland's best acting and singing talent are already signed up to appear in the show, with former Motherwell Children's Theatre member, Martine McMenemy playing Jill and Motherwell-based Suzanne Donaldson as the Fairy.

An interactive exhibition celebrating pantomime in Scotland will also be on display at Motherwell Theatre from Monday, November 23 until Wednesday, December 2.
