YOUNG brass students from across North Lanarkshire hit the right notes at a study day in Motherwell.

Around 600 budding musicians, aged between 10 and 18, gathered at Motherwell Concert Hall to take part in the first Brass in Class workshop.

The all-day intensive session featured masterclasses, recitals, and one-to-one coaching, all culminating in a joint, final performance.

Expert tuition and guidance was provided by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO), Royal Northern Music College in Manchester, and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

In previous years, the day has been for those learning the French horn but this year Brass In Class extended its remit to include multiple disciplines.
