Taylor High news
KEEPING FAITH . . . first year Taylor High pupils celebrate the launch of Catholic Education Week.
A GROUP of 10 first year pupils from Taylor recently enjoyed the opportunity to attend the launch of Catholic Education Week which took place in Our Lady and St Francis Primary in Carfin.
The Taylor pupils who attended this event were originally photographed when in Primary 6 and attending Our Lady and St Francis.
These photographs were then used for the publication ‘This is our Faith’ which has been published nationally as the definitive Catholic Religious Education syllabus for many years to come for the 3-15 age group.
Present at the launch were Catholic Education Commission for Scotland president Bishop Joseph Devine, CEC chairman James McVittie, Scottish Catholic Education Service director Michael McGrath and Fr Francis McGachey, parish priest of St Francis Xavier Church in Carfin.
Headteacher Gerry McCormick, who attended the event as chair of the CEC communications group, said he was extremely proud of the manner in which pupils conducted themselves on the day.
