OVER 400 youngsters from Motherwell’s Cathedral and Firpark Primary Schools were treated to a fun-packed show from the Hopscotch Theatre Company.

Children gathered to watch educational show ‘When The Oil Ran Out’ after the visit was organised by Supercounty.

Head of Supercounty, John Scott, said: “The performance was delivered by three very enthusiastic actors and the team had an energy which you could feel across the whole room.

“It was a very entertaining show with plenty of laughs from the whole audience, but it also tackled relevant environmental issues and linked well with a whole array of other curriculum areas.”

Neil Girvan, who played the main character Kevin, added “The children were interacting through song and joining in the story with us, and that is exactly the response we are looking for at Hopscotch.

“It’s great when the children join in with the songs and actions along with helping us up at the stage area.

“The show is all about having fun but hopefully, as well as the fun element, the children learn the importance of caring for our planet through the underlying message.”
