Lecturers in class act for good cause
Garry Allan sheds his moustache following his Movember fundraising effort
FOUR lecturers at Motherwell College have completed a hair-raising experience to raise £250 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The moustachioed quartet - Garry Allan, head of the college’s hospitality and professional cookery department, and his departmental colleagues Tony Mott, Russell Hands and Bernard Gallagher - raised the cash by taking part in the Movember charity challenge.
The four took part in a ‘big shave off’ after they joined millions of men in ditching the razor throughout November and growing a ‘tache’ to raise money.
Garry said: “We decided to take part in Movember because it was a bit of a laugh, easy to do, and we were able to raise some money for a good cause at the same time.
“We are really glad that people have taken the cause seriously and donated generously. We hope that next year we can get more people involved and raise even more money.”
TCT is an important charity for Motherwell College with 70 per cent of the College’s student population falling within its target age group.
