Joining forces to get safety advice to shoppers
Members of the panel and visitors with PC Mark McBride
MEMBERS of the Motherwell Crime Prevention Panel and local police officers joined forces for an event in the town centre.
The team took residence in a unit on Brandon Parade to offer advice on a range of issues to shoppers and passers-by.
PC Kirsteen Doyle, town centre officer who helped organise the day, said: “We gave out a variety of leaflets on different types of crime prevention, as well as road safety, alcohol and drug abuse and bogus callers, and assisted with any questions that members of the public had on these topics.
“We also issued bells for purses, which help prevent theft, free of charge.
“There were bags with colouring pencils and leaflets for kids, and they also had the chance to play with the sirens in the marked police vehicle which went down really well with the mums and dads!”
