Cadets are flying high
A GROUP from the Motherwell-based 498 (Wishaw) Squadron Air Cadets took to the skies for their first experience of flying recently.
It was an amazing outing for the cadets - Jade Thomson (13), Motherwell; Aidan Crichton (13) and Megan McQueen (14), both from New Stevenston; Heather Laurie (16), Bothwell; Jordan Thomson (14), Wishaw and Matthew Smith (14), Ashgill - as they visited the No 4 Air Experience Flight at Glasgow Airport.
During the outing the cadets were given the chance to take to the air and get behind the controls of a training aircraft flying over Loch Lomond experiencing what it feels like to be a pilot.
The cadets were also lucky to watch, from the safety of the University Air Squadron building, as a Chinook helicopter from RAF 18 Squadron landed close by to round off a memorable day.
